I began working with BrightPoint for Children in December 2017 and since then, I have become enamored with the work this company and our partners are doing. I say this to let you know, as the reader, that the person behind the computer screen writing this is a real person and a true believer in the work that we are doing. In doing so, our goal is to give hope to children around the world.
Our mission is simple, yet effective. We desire to help every child see their true potential. No matter where they come from, every child deserves the chance to be given the opportunity to receive an education. At BrightPoint, we partner with other nonprofits that have the same goal. Our partners help children all over the world. From Guatemala and Honduras, to Kenya and Uganda, even to countries in Asia, our partners are helping thousands of children from small offices. There are many organizations that are achieving great numbers with their sponsorship programs; knowing this truth fills us with joy! We thrive knowing there are more children receiving the help they need to obtain an education. While those organizations are flourishing on their own, at BrightPoint, we thrive to help the smaller organizations make the same impact. Our job is to help the little giants.
When thinking about the term “little giants,” I think about how God has placed us on this earth surrounded by the nature He has created. Take the mountains, for example. We are drawn to the resilience and the beauty the mountain portrays. During one of my mission trips to Guatemala in college, we stayed in a village that surrounded a lake, and across the lake was a beautiful mountain-like volcano. Till this day I remember feeling small next to the volcano, but also renewed because I knew that the same God who created this majestic volcano created me. And I was sent to be the hands and feet to the people in that village. God used me and God is using our partners in the same way. Even though their organizations are smaller, their strength is their size. God is using their size to reach places in the world that would be otherwise difficult to get to.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10
Not all successful organizations look the same, they all have various forms. Our partners are using the gifts God has given them to help children receive an education, medical services, and basic needs all through their sponsorship program. They are the little giants. And it is our joy to help them with our gifts. BrightPoint exists to help our partners achieve their personal goals by assisting them and administrating their child sponsorship programs. By doing this, we are giving them the opportunity to go into the nations, to be the hands and feet, and to create lasting relationships with the children and the community they are serving in.
We’re so thankful that this year we had the opportunity to help our partners extend their reach in many ways including:
- Seeds of Hope in Jericho in the Middle East was able to extend their education program beyond Preschool and Kindergarten to add Grade 1 and Grade 2 classes. This means that these young children are able to continue their education within a loving environment.
- BrightPoint connected Wiphan Care Ministries to Jackson Healthcare which resulted in extended medical care for all of their orphaned children in Zambia.
- The 410 Bridge extended their reach into Guatemala reaching many special needs and primary school children.
- Mully Children’s Family added a college sponsorship program to extend their impact to students who will become leaders and influencers in their community in Kenya
These are just a few of the many examples of how the little giants are making an impact through the child sponsorship programs. Moving forward, we ask that you help us reach our goal to raise $30,000 by the end of the year to help us reach more little giants who are making an impact in some of the poorest countries around the world. But they cannot do it alone. We need your help! Together, we can help eradicate poverty one child at a time.
